Thank You!

I am so proud of getting second place in the Edublog competition.  I wouldn't have done it without all of my supporters, family, and friends.  Thank you to all of you who voted for me.  I want to thank my former teacher Mrs. Yollis.  If I didn't have her as a teacher I wouldn't have had a blog.  Mrs. Yollis and her class won first place in Best class blog and in many other categories.  I would also like to congratulate Jaden, one of my former classmates, for getting first place in the competition.Thank you Edublogs for supporting student bloggers like me!

During my one and a half years of blogging, I made many new friends who are now my blogging buddies.  The first one is BB who has an incredible blog.  Her mom, AA and Bianca leave many quality comments on my blog.  I also receive really nice comments from teachers such as Mr. Chamberlain, Mrs. Jacobs from Hawaii, and Mr. Manell from Australia.  Other classes that I correspond with are 2km and 2kj  from Australia, Mrs. McKenzie from B4 in New Zealand, and Mr. Salsich from Connecticut.

Thank you all for supporting me!

    Dear Miriam,

Congratulations on your big win! I am exceedingly proud of the writer you have become! Your posts are always well written, your vocabulary is exemplary, and the photos you include help tell the story. Well done!

I love this post! You articulate (Now that's a high level word for you!) how proud you are of your achievement, but you also thank all the people who have supported you on your journey. Beautifully done, Miriam!

Some of my students are about to launch their own individual blogs. Maybe you can do a post about how you manage yours. For example, how do you budget your time to include blogging? When do you comment back to people? How do you set up your photos?

I am very proud of you!

    Your former teacher,
    Mrs. Y♥llis

  3. Aloha Miriam,
I have to admit that although I read and commented on a number of student bloggers I voted for you everyday. My reason was simple, not only were your posts interesting and well written, you cared enough to comment back.

When you have an audience there needs to be interaction between the writer and the reader and you provide that for everyone that posts a comment. That says a great deal about your commitment to your writing.

Congratulations Miriam, I know that this is only the beginning of all that is yet to come.

    A hui hou,
    Mrs. Jacobs

  4. I think it is great you are creating a small community around your blog as well as other students'. Ultimately, the real value on online communication (blogs, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) is in building relationships through conversations.

While you may not realize it, because you are developing relationships with others around the world, we are all becoming a little safer. When it is normal for students to carry on conversations with other students and discover there are common thoughts, hopes, and dreams we are one step closer to caring for all others.

I would congratulate you on the award, but you don't need an award to know the value of your blog. :)

  5. @ Miriam,

Congratulations again on your award. It was very well deserved!

You're right about being lucky to have Mrs Yollis as a teacher. I bet she is a teacher you'll remember for life!

I like Mrs Yollis' idea of posting about how you manage your blog. I think my student bloggers would be interested in that too.

It is always a pleasure to visit your blog and I know I will keep coming back for a very long time!

    @Mrs. Yollis,

Congratulations on winning in so many different categories! I am so glad that I can come to you when ever I need to. I think it is a wonderful idea of doing a post about how I manage my own blog.
